2006 IEEE RFIC Symposium
Travel Information

Conference Venue:

RFIC-2006 will be held at the Moscone Center in the heart of San Francisco, please visit the Moscone site for maps, directions and additional venue information.

Airports:

The three primary airports serving the San Francisco Bay Area are: San Franscisco International Airport (SFO) in south San Francisco [approximately 12 miles], Oakland International Airport (OAK) located in Oakland [approximately 18 miles] and San Jose International Airport (SJC) in San Jose [approximately 47 miles.]

Both SFO and OAK are serviced by the Bay Area Rapid Transit ( BART ) system. In addition to rental cars and taxis there are numerous private companies providing shuttle service to and from each airport (please see the ground transportation links on the airport web-pages for additional information.)

Public Transportation:

Parking can be a bit of a challange in the city (city parking information can be found on the DPT website.)

Many areas of the city, including Union Square, are within easy walking distance of the Moscone Center. San Francisco is well known for its hills, so do be aware that there may be some uphill climbs between neighboring areas; note that Union Square is a bit uphill from the Moscone Center.

Public transportation within San Francisco is quite good. BART provides convenient regional service, Muni Metro offers lightrail and bus service throughout the city, in addition Caltrain offers service from 4th and Townsend to the South Bay area.
