Author Instructions for IMS2003 and RFIC2003

These instructions will guide you through the paper submission process for IMS2003 and RFIC2003. The process should be self-explanatory. However, support is available at 314-776-6666 between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:30 pm, Central Time (14:00 to 23:30 GMT), Monday through Friday or via email at ims2003@miracd.com.

Paper Preparation:
Papers must be prepared in compliance with guidelines contained in the Call for Papers for IMS2003 or RFIC2003, or click the following links: IMS2003, RFIC2003. In addition, a MS Word template suitable for either IMS and RFIC may be downloaded at the above links. RFIC paper templates are here Word DOC Format and PDF Format.

General Information:
Once you have generated the electronic copy of your paper you are ready to access the electronic paper submission sites for IMS2003 or RFIC2003. During the paper submission process you will access nine different "screens". These nine screens are:

  1. Login
  2. Login Information
  3. My Information
  4. Authors
  5. Export Control Compliance
  6. Summary Paper Upload
  7. Details
  8. Proofread
  9. Finish

Instructions and general information are located in the left hand column of each screen. Please read those directions and this document prior to requesting support.

Electronic Paper Submission Process:

Step 1.
Access the paper submission site at http://ww4.miracd.com/imsrfic/. Choose either IMS2003 or RFIC2003 by clicking on their links or logos. This will bring you to the "Login" screen. If you are a new user, click on New User. The following steps apply for both IMS2003 and RFIC2003 paper submissions.
(Please note: Your submission will be converted to an Adobe Acrobat pdf file that you will be required to proofread. If you do not have Acrobat Reader click on the Acrobat Reader icon to download a copy of this program. )

Step 2.
You should now be at the "Login Information" screen. Make up a login name and password. Write these down so you can use them to access the site at a later time to check on the status of your papers. Enter the login name, a valid email address, and your password and click "Enter"

Step 3.
You should now be at the "My Information" screen. Enter the data requested. Note that the blue check indicates a required field. Click "Update Information"

Step 4.
You should now be at the "Authors" screen. If you are an author click "Add me as an author". Your name and affiliation should appear at the top of the screen. If you have a co-author, type that person's name in the form provided. You may designate a co-author to be the corresponding author. There may be only one corresponding author per paper. After all of the information is entered click "Add Author" to add the co-author. The co-author name and affiliation should now appear at the top of the screen. Repeat for additional co-authors. The order of the co-authors may adjusted by using the up and down arrows located to the left of each personfs name. You may delete a co-author by using the "trash can" icon located to the left of the names. When you are done adding co-authors, click on "Finish"

Step 5.
You should now be at the "Export Control Compliance" screen. Please read the document carefully as summary papers will be distributed to a panel of experts for peer review. The membership of these peer review panels is international. You may view and print the entire document by clicking on "View Export Control Compliance Document" button. If you agree and can comply with the statement click on "I Agree". If you cannot comply with the statement click on "I Do Not Agree" to return to the electronic paper submission homepage. You will not be able to submit a paper to either IMS2003 or RFIC if you cannot comply with the Export Control Compliance document.

Step 6.
You should now be at the "Summary Paper Upload" screen. Type the title of your summary paper. If your title contains Greek letters or special characters you may use the palette on the screen to enter these. The file guidelines were specified in the Call for Papers. You may review these by clicking on File Guidelines. Click on "Browse" and navigate to the file you want to upload. Once you have located the proper file click on "Upload".

Step 7.
You should now be at the "Details" screen. Fill in the requested information. Please note that your abstract should be identical to that contained in the file you uploaded in Step 6. When you choose a technical category, the description of the category is displayed. Your abstract should contain information that justifies the technical categories you choose. If you wish enter the paper in the student paper competition check the appropriate box and complete the academic advisor information fields. Information on student paper guidelines and eligibility can be found in the IMS2003 and RFIC2003 Calls for Papers. When all the information is entered, click "Submit".

Step 8.
You should now be at the "Proofread" screen. Click on "Proofread". A pdf version of you paper will be downloaded to your computer. You may enlarge this window to read the paper on your computer or you may print a copy of the paper to proofread. After you are done reading or printing close the window containing your paper. If the paper is acceptable to you, click "Accept My Summary Paper". If you want to resubmit the paper click "Resubmit My Summary Paper". If you want to fix the paper later click "Fix My Summary Paper Later". If you want to view the paper again, click "View My Summary Paper".

Step 9.
If you clicked on "Accept My Summary Paper" in Step 8 you should now be at the "Finish" screen. You may print this page as a reference for any correspondence concerning your paper. In addition, an email confirming the receipt of your paper will be sent to you automatically. You may now return to the Home Page or Logoff by clicking on the appropriate icon.

You may logon to the system at anytime to check the status of your submissions. You must, however, use the same username and password to view prior submissions.
